Passing of Mr. John Coombes

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing yesterday afternoon of our long time friend and Navy League colleague Mr. John Coombes. He will be truly missed.

John is a Life Member of the Navy League of Canada Lethbridge Branch. He joined the Navy League community a good number of years ago when his sons enrolled in NLCC Lethbridge and he enrolled as an officer. He moved through the ranks and served as Commanding Officer. He then moved to serve on the Alberta Division Officer staff, and eventually as Division Commander. Upon retirement from Division staff, he remained active in Division by sitting as a Director on the Division Board of Directors for a number of years. He then returned to Lethbridge Branch and sat on our local Branch until he decided it was time to retire from Navy League. Although not actively serving, he was still a strong supporter and advocate for the Navy League of Canada.
