Filming tips
Video Requirements
- Film in a well lit area.
- Use extra ambient room lighting if it is available.
- Film landscape (horizontal) using the camera on the back of the device. Selfie cameras are not recommended.
Submitting video
- Save file as .mov and .mp4. These are the only two file types which will be accepted.
- Avoid self-editing your video.
Send us the video to
online.interactive@abnavyleague.ca.
Please include the following in your message:
- Rank and Name
- Corps Name
- Town/City and Province
In the subject line of the email, please address accordingly.
TYVideo, Rank Surname, FirstName, Corps
Example: TYVideo, OS Simpson, Homer, NLCCTEWaddington
If the file is small enough (less than 7 MB) email the video directly. Otherwise upload the files to either Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive and share a link. See below for tips in uploading to Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.
If the submitted video does not meet these requirements, the video will not be used. We may ask for a resubmission with the correct format. If there are any questions or concerns, please send us an email at

Uploading
If the file size is small (under 7MB) email the file directly to
online.interactive@abnavyleague.ca.
Google Drive
The Google Drive application and a Google account is required to upload and share.
Select the video and select the Share button.
Select Google Drive from the list of options.
Create a new folder.
Save the video in the newly created folder.
Once the video has been uploaded, go in the Google Drive application, find the folder and tap on the three circles in the upper right hand corner to access the folder settings.
Tap on “Link sharing off.” The button should change from “Link sharing off” to “Link sharing on”
Check to see the link permissions by tapping on the Share button.
In the share menu, check the options by tapping on the three circles in the top right of the screen.
Ensure the link is set to “anyone with the link can view”
Copy the link and send it to
online.interactive@abnavyleague.ca.
Microsoft OneDrive
The Microsoft OneDrive application and a Microsoft account is required to upload and share.
Select the video and select the Share button.
Select OneDrive from the list of options.
Select the folder you wish to share. Prior creation of a new folder may be required inside the application.
Upload the video in the desired folder.
Once the video has been uploaded, go in the OneDrive application, find the folder and tap on the three circles on the right side of the folder to access the folder settings.
Tap on “Share.”
Ensure "Anyone with this link can edit this item" appears.
Copy the link and send it to
online.interactive@abnavyleague.ca.
